Assistant Accountant

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be working with a manufacturing company based in Billingham on the position of Assistant Accountant.

Principal Accountabilities Fixed Assets:

Transactional postings for the monthly & quarterly fixed asset reporting & accounting under US GAAP and IFRS.

Accounting Includes:

• Journals, accruals, additions and disposals and processing interfaces from other accounting ledgers
• Capital charge out transactions.
• Run Depreciation on sap, and accrue depreciation for projects to be closed, reconciled.
• Accounting for customer capital
• Responsibility and control for the project management and fixed asset modules in SAP
• Responsibility for all Fixed Assets processes, policies, and procedures

Reporting Includes:

• Presanction reporting & control.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets reconciliations pertaining to capital and fixed assets

Other Fixed Asset Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and providing financial sign off on capital expenditure proposals
• Responsibility for the Fixed Asset Verification process
• Leading process improvements around capital and fixed asset processes

Leases

• Oversight and responsibility for all aspects of Lease Accounting under relevant accounting standards (USGAAP and IFRS) including additions, initial recognition, amortisation, interest expense and lease liability. This includes month end reporting.

Other Activities

• Responding to both internal and external audit queries regarding Fixed Assets and Leases
• Providing financial support to management on grant applications, including the due diligence process, preparation of and liaising with auditor to finalise grant submissions.
• Responsibility for National Statistical returns associated with Capital and Fixed Assets
• Regularly review and update finance procedures applicable to the role
• Ad-hoc Finance activities as require.
