The Role
The successful candidate will be a member of the payroll team, working together with the team, will have the responsibility for ensuring all employees on the payroll are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Clerk will ensure payroll processing remains compliant with legislation and company policies at all times.
Key Objectives:
Validate and, where necessary, input into the payroll system timesheet and amended data received from the relevant authorised depot Managers.

Hours:
38 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Hours may vary on a daily basis and is driven by meeting Payroll deadlines.

The Payroll Clerk will ensure payroll processing remains compliant with legislation and company policies at all times.
Key Objectives:
Validate and, where necessary, input into the payroll system timesheet and amended data received from the relevant authorised depot Managers.
- Processing Payroll for Weekly paid employees
- Validation of Tax, NI, SSP,SMP,SPP and SMP calculations
- Checking net pay calculations before payment processing deadlines
- Processing starters, leavers and salary changes including calculation of arrears and leaving entitlements
- Completion of delegated payroll year-end duties
- Resolving payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner
- Provide reporting to internal departments and depots and resolve queries
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working in a payroll team would be desired
- Highly numerate
- Experience of working in high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
- Strong system skills, including Excel
- Experience of OpenPeople would be an advantage but is not essential
