Electrical Service Engineer

Jackson Hogg is excited to be representing a market leader in Marine Electrical Power solutions in their search for an Electrical Service Engineer. This is a demanding role requiring an in depth knowledge of electrical marine / offshore systems and experience maintaining, repairing, installing and commissioning such equipment.
You will be part of a dedicated team of engineers who can deploy around the world to do a wide range of electrical repair and servicing on ship automation and electrical systems. This can range from routine servicing, installation and emergency repair. Work can range from the Outer Hebrides to Portsmouth, from Antwerp to Brazil. Some of the key responsibilities would include:
This is a challenging and demanding role and as such candidates must have credible and sufficient knowledge of relevant electrical systems, ideally within an offshore and/or marine environment. This may include:
Experience onboard ships or vessels as a qualified engineering cadet/officer
Wide range of experience with an array of marine and shipboard systems – navigation, automation etc
Holding MIST/BOSIET is advantageous but not essential
Candidates must hold a valid and clean driving license as well as a valid, in date passport. There needs to be a requirement and willingness to travel internationally at short notice for extended periods of time.
This role affords an exciting opportunity to earn good money in the booming offshore and marine industry with a high earning potential and the chance to grow and develop on a range of specialist electrical equipment. The base salary is competitive, affording flexibility dependent on skill levels, experience and ability twinned with a highly attractive OTE which is both representative and attainable. A car provision and millage is also provided in addition to holiday and pension benefits.

- Fault finding, service, testing, inspection and repair of key marine equipment – navigation systems, winch and winding gear, switchgear, automated systems and instrumentation
- Installations, Commissioning and modifications as part of planned, routine or reactive repair work
- Retrofitting equipment and repair solutions with close liaison with the office design and projects team
