This is an office based, systems management role where an understanding of maintenance functions and processes is essential. Senior/Lead Mechanical Maintenance Engineer 

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Principal Engineer who specialises in the Mechanical & Electrical disciplines to join our client who operate within the rail industry. This role is full-time and permanent and will be based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, offering a hybrid working pattern. The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline, and have extensive industry experience assessing the conditional of electrical an mechanical assets within  infrastructure and public sectors which can be applied to the rail industry. 

 

Responsibilities:

<ul>
	<li>Take lead in assessing current conditions of assets across the Northeast
	<li>Develop and maintain maintenance, renewal and repair specification compliant with relevant legislative and industry standards. 
	<li>Lead in undertaking audits, inspections and other activities aimed at evaluating compliance of the delivery units against standards and specifications. 
	<li>Provide technical advice to internal teams and internal/external stakeholders.
	<li>Design and trial new systems and equipment.
	<li>Supervisory experience and checking of others' work.
</ul>

Requirements:

Principal Engineer - M&E

Jackson Hogg is proud to be recruiting for a solutions focused engineer to join an innovative renewable engineering business as a Hydrogen Safety Engineer. This company work at the forefront in the development of the production and use of hydrogen as a fuel for off grid power and beyond, and this is a technical role to determine safety surrounding hydrogen production. The ideal candidate should have experience working with hazardous gases (ideally hydrogen) and have the ability to research unknown topics going back to first principles, legislation, standards and academic research. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and be confident in discussing and defending your process, methods and reporting to colleagues, customers and regulators. 

The role offers a great deal of autonomy, progression opportunities and the chance to work within the exciting field of engineering, renewables, contributing towards the goal of net-zero.

Responsibilities - this is a varied role and will be dependent on your strengths and experience, the role will include, but is not limited to the following:

<ul>
	<li>Work closely with other engineers within mechanical and process safety departments to analyse and research new areas of hydrogen engineering, particularly focused around hydrogen safety
	<li>Liaise with clients, colleagues, stakeholders regularly to discuss findings an processes.
	<li>Be involved in hazardous area classification, design of site layouts and equipment, oversee ATEX conformance of equipment and instillations, Oversee CE marking of ATEX equipment (depending on experience).

Requirements:

	<li> A strong academic background within a scientific (physics)/mechanical engineering or process safety background (Ideally obtain a PhD/Master's degree)
	<li>Experience working on projects involving ATEX/hydrogen safety (in industry, research or university).

	<li>Desire to evolve, progress understanding and problem solve.
	<li>Perform engineering drawing to discuss your findings.

The purpose of this role is to work with the Management Accountants, FP&A and wider finance department to prepare the monthly Revenue Management Accounts for the Group

As the Service Delivery Manager you’ll deliver zero-emissions power by overseeing HPU installations to major customers. You’ll work to tight deadlines to deliver customer power on (and off dates) on high profile deployments, whist overseeing a deployment through its lifetime onsite.

Responsibilities

	<li>Manage allocated HPU deployments and ensure pre-agreed customer power on dates/times are met through the management of deployment tasks such as customer-facing meetings, booking cranage & transport, requesting labour resources and hydrogen deliveries
	<li>Ensure outstanding customer service is delivered throughout a deployment’s lifetime
	<li>Complete schedules and resource plans to ensure deployments stay on track, hold various internal and external stakeholders accountable to deliver as agreed

Service Delivery Manager

Jackson Hogg is supporting a fantastic Newcastle based organisation on the appointment of an Accounts Clerk. 
 
As a member of the Accounts Payable team, you will report directly to the Manager or Supervisor, collaborating closely with colleagues across the Finance department.

In this role, you'll handle the accurate processing and input of supplier invoices and employee expenses, always adhering strictly to VAT and tax regulations.

The Accounts Clerk will check the validity of staff expense claims and supplier invoices ensuring that they are authorized in accordance with company policy, are compliant with tax and VAT regulations, categorised and coded correctly.

You'll be the go-to person for resolving internal and external queries, managing incoming calls, and reconciling supplier statements to maintain financial accuracy.

You'll also be responsible for recording journal entries, setting up new suppliers in our finance system, and maintaining precise records of supplier and employee data. Your administrative skills will shine as you take on various ad hoc duties, contributing to the overall efficiency of our finance operations.

Clean energy without limits

The organisation’s headcount plan was ambitious, and required an expanded recruitment capability to deliver it, but with varying recruitment volumes throughout the year, they needed a flexible solution. Geopura considered hiring an in-house recruiter, but the niche roles they were looking to fill, combined with the variability of their recruitment requirements and limited employer brand within the market meant that this solution wasn’t viable. They also considered expanding their use of recruitment agencies, but the unpredictable costs involved in this were difficult to align with their plans.

Geopura’s growth was starting to accelerate in 2022, but that came with its own problems

By placing one of our talent partners on-site, on a scalable basis from two to five days per week, we were able to optimise their recruitment process from start to finish and help them achieve their headcount plan. Our process started with an in-depth audit of their recruitment process, from job specification writing and job board usage analysis to interview technique and offer management. From there we took detailed briefs of the roles on offer and got to work sourcing candidates directly through our talent partner, with assistance from our wider, specialist recruitment team, and created a preferred supplierlist for the specialist roles we didn’t have the expertise to fill ourselves.

To assist Geopura in their ambitious growth journey, Jackson Hogg proposed our flagship Talent Partnership service.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%. This all allowed Geopurato achieve their headcount plans, continue their growth journey and focus on their innovative technologies rather than recruitment. Due to the success of their first 12 months, Geoupura extended their contract by a further 12 months.

Our talent partner assisted in creating an apprenticeship scheme to foster new talent, and by optimising the recruitment process and controlling all activities centrally, time to offer was reduced by 22%.
